Thanks to a new partnership with Rapid SOS, emergency services in Brazil can now request live video from iPhone users. This expansion allows emergency communications centers (ECCs) across the country to access Apple’s Emergency SOS Live Video feature.

During an emergency call, if telecommunicators determine video would help, they send a secure request to the caller’s device. Users see a prompt and can share their camera’s live video with a single tap. The feature is encrypted by default, and callers retain control, able to stop sharing at any time. This technology was first enabled for U.S. emergency services with iOS 18 in September 2024.

190 is Brazil’s equivalent of 911, and this integration allows iPhone users to securely share live video at their request. The feature is accessible within Rapid SOS UNITE at no additional cost to ECCs using core modules. Apple notes that Emergency SOS Live Video is available on iPhone 14 or later, though it is subject to device limitations and may not be available in all situations.
