Redmi is skipping the '16' model number, mirroring Xiaomi's recent naming convention. The device will arrive in four distinct RAM and storage configurations: 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, 4GB/256GB, and a higher-tier 8GB/256GB option.

Powering the Redmi 17 5G is a substantial 7,500 mAh battery, a significant upgrade that promises extended usage. This large cell will support 45W fast charging, ensuring users can quickly top up. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS, while an IP64 rating provides resistance against dust and splashes.

With the Redmi 15 5G launching in early August last year, its successor is expected to launch around the same time, potentially even sooner. Redmi has already confirmed the Chinese Note 17 family is launching in July, suggesting an imminent global debut for the 17 5G.
