Redmi Note 17 5G Review: battery, trimmed specs

The Redmi Note 17 arrives as the latest big‑screen affordable device from Xiaomi, succeeding the Redmi Note 15.

Its standout feature is an 8000m Ah battery and a larger 7.0‑inch AMOLED panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone runs on a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, 6–8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, all wrapped in a 169.7x79.1x8.4mm body weighing 225g.

However, the model makes several compromises to keep costs low. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 is less powerful than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 used in the Note 15, the rear camera is a single 50MP sensor instead of a multi‑lens setup, and stereo speakers are replaced by a single bottom‑mounted speaker. These changes are noticeable in a price‑sensitive segment.

Despite the cuts, the Note 17 still offers solid performance for 2026, especially with its massive battery and fast 45W charging.
