Microsoft unveiled a new Surface Pro line powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 chips, marking the company’s first ARM‑based Windows tablets. The 13‑inch model arrives in Platinum, Black and Dune, with optional OLED and up to 120 Hz refresh. Base pricing starts at $1,499, while fully specced configurations can top $3,549. Microsoft markets it as a tablet that delivers full Windows capability without sacrificing performance.

The Pro ships with either the Snapdragon X2 Plus (10‑core) or X2 Elite (12‑core), 16‑64 GB of RAM and 256 GB‑1 TB of SSD storage. Wi‑Fi 7 connectivity and a claimed 15.5‑hour local video battery life complete the spec sheet. These options push the traditional Surface price hierarchy upward, challenging Intel‑based rivals on power efficiency. The OLED option targets creators, and the shift reflects demand for battery life.

Alongside the tablet, Microsoft released updated Surface Laptop models in 13.8‑inch and 15‑inch sizes, starting at $1,599 and $1,699. Both feature color‑accurate LCD panels, up to 20‑hour battery life, and the same X2 SoCs and RAM choices as the Pro. With configurations reaching $3,449, the lineup shows Microsoft betting heavily on ARM to broaden Windows‑on‑the‑go options. Its pricing pits the ARM Surface against Intel‑based ultrabooks.
