Microsoft appears to be working on a Surface Pro 13" tablet powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite chipset, according to leaked details. The device would mark a significant shift toward ARM-based computing for the company, which recently launched Intel-powered Surface Laptop 8 models alongside its Nvidia RTX Spark-equipped Surface Laptop Ultra.

The leak suggests the tablet will pack 32GB of soldered RAM and offer PCIe 4.0 SSD storage in 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB configurations. A 13" OLED display supports the optional Surface Slim Pen, while the detachable Flex Keyboard can operate wirelessly or in traditional laptop mode. Two USB-C 4.0 ports handle charging, data transfer, and video output.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite features 12 Prime "Oryon" cores and an 80 TOPS Hexagon NPU for on-device AI processing. Since it runs ARM architecture, the device includes x86 emulation for broader software compatibility. Battery life reportedly reaches up to 15.5 hours of video playback.

The tablet will come in Black, Platinum, and Dune color options with matching Alcantara-covered keyboards. Official specifications are expected to be revealed on June 16, though lower-powered Snapdragon X2 Plus variants might also be in development.

Microsoft's move into ARM-based Surface devices reflects growing industry momentum behind Qualcomm's laptop chips, challenging both Intel and Apple's silicon dominance in the premium Windows segment.
