Supply chain reports suggest Samsung Display will supply OLED panels for Apple's rumored iPhone Fold and touchscreen MacBook Pro, while LG Display handles the Apple Watch Series 12. The iPhone Fold is expected to launch in 2026 with Samsung-made OLED screens, marking Apple's first entry into foldable smartphones.

According to ET News, Samsung Display plans to produce 10 million OLED panels for the iPhone Fold and 2 million for a future iPad mini refresh. Production for iPhone 18 Pro models and iPad mini displays has allegedly already begun, with MacBook Pro panel manufacturing slated to start in July 2026 when Samsung's 8.6th-generation OLED line comes online.

These rumors echo previous reports dating back to 2024, suggesting Samsung will exclude Chinese supplier BOE from iPhone Fold and OLED MacBook Pro production. The consistency of these supply chain claims indicates Apple is preparing for major product transitions, though the reports offer no genuinely new information beyond what industry sources have already circulated.

Apple's apparent reliance on Samsung for foldable and large-format OLED displays reflects the supplier's expertise in these technologies, despite ongoing competition in the smartphone market. This partnership approach allows Apple to leverage proven display technology while maintaining its design and software advantages.
