Spotify has launched a new podcast clip feature allowing both Free and Premium users to save and share specific moments from episodes. The tool, accessible via a scissor icon in the Now Playing view, lets users precisely select segments they want to save or share, addressing a long-requested functionality in the podcast space.

The feature includes a trimming tool that, according to tests, uses a transcript-based selector rather than a traditional timeline. Users can save clips to a new 'Your clips' folder, share through Spotify Messages, or share directly to other platforms, with the ability to add these clips to playlists for easy access later.

This move positions Spotify alongside competitors like Overcast that have offered similar podcast clipping tools for years. The feature is rolling out globally today but may not be immediately available on all shows, with Spotify noting that availability will expand across more shows over time.
