Spotify Lets AI Agents Create Personal Podcasts for Your Library

Spotify has launched Personal Podcasts, a new feature that lets users save AI-generated audio briefings directly to their library. The system works through a desktop command-line tool compatible with AI coding agents like OpenAI's Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code. Users can create custom audio content such as daily news digests, study guides from class notes, or weekly itineraries.

After installing the Save to Spotify CLI from GitHub and signing into their account, users prompt their AI agent to generate audio content. Once created, these personalized briefings appear in Your Library alongside music and regular podcasts. Spotify offers examples like morning briefings that flag upcoming meetings, check weather, and recommend commute podcasts, or progressive audio series built from saved articles for learning new subjects.

The feature remains in beta but is available worldwide to eligible Free and Premium subscribers, though Spotify cautions that there are usage limits during the testing period. This CLI tool launch follows last month's Claude integration that lets users connect their Spotify account to the chatbot and ask for personalized music and podcast recommendations directly in a conversation.
