Rivian's latest software update, 2026.36, brings a Pet Cam feature to R2 models, allowing owners to view a livestream of their pets via the interior camera on their phone's lock screen or in the Rivian app. The feature can be stopped with a tap on the vehicle's main display.
Additionally, Pet Mode improvements include the ability to enable it from the Rivian app, with a confirmation prompt to prevent accidental changes. These controls will be available in all models.
In other news, R2 vehicles will debut Rivian Assistant, an AI voice assistant already available in R1 models, handling tasks like navigation, entertainment, and climate control.
