iOS 27.2 launches next week with new features across six Apple apps on iPhone. In Messages, Suggested Actions returns after being cut from the public iOS 27 build. These suggestions appear under conversations and can propose creating a calendar event, adding a reminder, or saving to a note, with an option to fine-tune which types you see.
The Apple TV app gains profiles on iPhone and iPad, a feature previously limited to tvOS. Users sharing an account can keep viewing history and recommendations separate, and a new profile selection screen appears when the app launches. FaceTime Dual Capture, which keeps front and rear cameras active at once, now works on Group FaceTime calls. On iPhone 17 and newer, both camera feeds stream simultaneously by default.
In the Home app, compatible smart locks gain a "Lock After Closing" automation, which locks a door a set time after it closes rather than after it was unlocked. A new "Door Left Open" alert notifies users when a door has stayed open too long. Apple Podcasts splits its Up Next queue into New Episodes and Continue Playing, and the Games app's Home tab now shows recently downloaded unplayed games and makes achievement progress and leaderboard scores easier to track.
