Pixel 11 Camera Feature Apple Should Copy

Earlier this month, Google unveiled its new Pixel 11 lineup. Though similar to past models, the phones bring delightful quality-of-life improvements. One standout addition is a new set of camera processing options, allowing far more control over photo output. On the cusp of the i Phone 18 Pro release, Apple should offer something comparable.

The new Camera Looks feature works like Photographic Styles but applies adjustments prior to capture. Beyond standard presets, it offers six distinct aesthetics: Editorial, Velvet, Classic, Digi, Black Tie, and Minimal. These looks stray from highly processed smartphone imagery to capture older photographic essences. Digi replicates the low dynamic range and noisy look of 2010s pocket cameras, while Minimal disables HDR pipelines entirely for a low-processed result.

While i Phone Pro RAW lets users bypass post-processing, it complicates the experience. To build the best camera in your pocket, Apple must accept that not every user wants the same thing. Photography is an art of self-expression, so giving users more options over how processed their photos look would be a great step forward.
