Team GB's men's curlers delivered a commanding 6-3 victory over Sweden in Cortina, reinforcing their status as Winter Olympic gold medal favourites. The Scottish quartet, led by skip Bruce Mouat, controlled the heavyweight meeting from the outset, continuing Mouat's dominance over Swedish rival Niklas Edin.

This win marks Mouat's eighth victory in their last 10 encounters and comes after his mixed doubles disappointment. The British rink now sit well positioned in the race for seven wins from nine round-robin matches needed to guarantee a semi-final spot. Sweden, who lost their opener against the hosts, face another medal contender in Canada next in what could be a must-win situation.

Mouat, Hammy McMillan, Bobby Lammie and Grant Hardie established control early, claiming two points in the first end and never relinquishing their lead. Edin's struggles with key shots allowed Team GB to build a 4-1 advantage at halftime, extending it to 6-2 with three ends remaining. The Swedish skip conceded with two ends left, unable to mount a comeback against the relentless British team.
