Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku has joined Turkish side Fenerbahce from Napoli. The 33-year-old struggled with injuries last season and made only seven appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side. Belgium's record goalscorer returns to Turkey where he lived during the 1996-1997 season when his father Roger was playing professionally for Genclerbirligi.

"It's an honour and a privilege to be joining your club," said Lukaku in a video on social media. "I am fit, 100%, ready to go. It is an emotional moment after many years to be going back to Turkey where I lived as a young kid."

The fee and length of contract for Lukaku has not been disclosed. Despite an injury-hit campaign last season, the former Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United forward scored three goals at this summer's World Cup. Lukaku has won the Belgian championship, a Fifa Club World Cup, and a Scudetto with both Inter Milan and Napoli.

He is the second former United forward to join the club this summer after Mason Greenwood. Fenerbahce, who have finished runners-up to Galatasaray for the last four seasons, are without a Turkish league title since 2014.
