Team GB's men's curling suffered their first Winter Olympics defeat after a stunning 9-7 loss to hosts Italy. The world's top-ranked rink looked in control until a disastrous first end where Italy stole four points, leaving the British squad chasing throughout the match in front of a raucous home crowd.

After opening their campaign with two victories, including against Sweden who beat them in the 2018 gold-medal match, the British team mounted a remarkable comeback. Led by Bruce Mouat, they clawed back to level in the ninth end before the Italians held their nerve in the final end to secure victory.

Team GB remains in a strong position for the semi-finals, with seven wins from nine round-robin matches potentially securing their place. The women's team plays South Korea at 13:05 GMT, while the men return to face the Czech Republic on Saturday, also at 13:05 GMT, seeking to bounce back from this disappointing result.
