Britain’s 21‑year‑old Zoe Backstedt claimed victory on stage three of the Tour de Suisse Femmes in Bad Ragaz, out‑sprinting the peloton in the final 300 metres. A flat profile set up a bunch finish, and a perfectly timed lead‑out from Canyon‑Sram allowed her to surge clear. The win marked her ninth professional triumph.

Backstedt praised her squad after the breakaway was seized with 19 km left and the tempo stayed high. She admitted nerves when the escape formed, but the controlled chase delivered the sprint. Lauren Dickson kept second overall, 25 seconds off Elisa Longo Borghini, even managed after a late‑stage crash. All riders involved received the same time under the five‑kilometre rule, preserving the overall gaps.

Backstedt’s strength lies in fast finishes, not mountains, leaving her out of general‑classification contention, more than 16 minutes behind the leader. The stage win adds momentum to her sprint résumé and reinforces Canyon‑Sram’s dominance in flat finishes. Her victory also lifts team morale before the upcoming mountain stages, where the squad will rely on climbers to defend the jersey.
