Wolverhami Wanderers defender Kieran Trippier sustained a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury in his left knee during his league debut in Friday's 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers. The 35-year-old, who joined on a free transfer in June, is expected to be out for several weeks.

Fellow defender Yerson Mosquera, 25, will also miss multiple weeks after suffering a slight tear in his ankle ligaments in the same match. However, there was positive news on winger Rafiki Said, who overcame a high-grade MCL injury sustained in pre-season. Director of performance Phil Hayward confirmed Said is progressing well and has been cleared from his brace following a recent scan.

Hayward also provided updates on other players, stating goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is a week away from full fitness, while midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde needs an additional couple of weeks before returning to first-team training.
