Norway's Sigrid Haugset secured a stunning solo victory on stage three of the Tour de France Femmes, holding off two-time world champion Lotte Kopecky. Haugset, of Uno X Mobility, attacked with 113km remaining and built an insurmountable lead on the gruelling 156.5km stage from Geneva into France.

Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) pursued Haugset but was ultimately unable to close the gap, finishing one minute 24 seconds behind. Haugset's unexpected win propels her to the top of the general classification, holding a two-minute and two-second lead over Kim le Court (AG Insurance-Soudal). Previous leader Lorena Wiebes was dropped on the early climbs.

Haugset, 27, expressed disbelief at her victory, her first major win outside of Norwegian championships. While she now leads overall, she is expected to face challenges in the upcoming mountain stages, where overall contenders like Demi Vollering and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot remain close in the standings.
