Team SD Worx‑Protime rider Lorena Wiebes sprinted to win Stage Ponte 1 of the Tour de France Femmes, holding onto a select group over a punchy climb before launching a final sprint with 200 metres left. She took the first yellow jersey.

The 85.5‑mile out‑and‑back route from Lausanne featured a 1.5‑mile 4.1% climb that tested the favourites. Wiebes stayed with about 20 riders before out‑spinning Kim le Court‑Pienaar and Demi Vollering to a bike‑length victory.

Her win marks the sixth at the race, extending her record for most stage wins since the 2022 return to the World Tour. She will wear yellow for a second time after a brief stint four years ago.

The race will continue in Switzerland with a flat 91.9‑mile Stage 2 from Aigle to Geneva, giving sprinters another chance. A future stage will feature the first‑ever ascent of Mont Ventoux.
