Marlen Reusser secured her first yellow jersey at the Tour de France Femmes by winning the 21km time trial from Gevrey-Chambertin to Dijon. The Swiss rider, who is also the time trial world champion, finished in 27 minutes and 30 seconds, establishing a 14-second lead over Demi Vollering in the general classification.

Reusser outperformed Lieke Nooijen by four seconds and 21-year-old Briton Zoe Backstedt, who finished fourth. The challenging conditions, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, also affected previous leader Sigrid Haugset and defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, who both lost significant time.

Reusser expressed immense happiness, stating that winning the time trial and taking the yellow jersey was a long-term goal, humorously dubbed "Project Dijon" with her team. This victory marks a significant achievement in her career.
