Ubisoft, in partnership with Hooded Horse and Unfrozen Studio, has put Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era into early access on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and PC Game Pass. The first brand‑new entry in the series in over a decade invites veterans and newcomers to command empires, battle turn‑by‑turn, and explore a richly detailed world.

Early access ships with six distinct factions—Temple, Dungeon, Schism, Grove, Necropolis, and Hive—each boasting unique units, heroes, and structures. Players can test single‑player skirmishes, premade scenarios, and procedurally generated maps with custom win conditions, while a full tutorial guides newcomers through the first act of the narrative campaign.

Multiplayer modes cover Classic, Single Hero, and Arena, featuring leaderboards and local hotseat play. An initial Map Editor beta allows custom lobbies, and early access plans promise a full campaign rollout, more templates, Spectator Mode, and community‑driven tweaks. Localization spans 15 languages, from German to Japanese.

Priced at $39.99 with a 25 % launch discount until May 13, 2026, the game also appears on PC Game Pass. This release marks Ubisoft’s return to a flagship strategy franchise, offering a modern take on a beloved formula while setting a roadmap for ongoing content updates.
