Steam Deck Sales Drop After May Price Hike

Despite a notable sales blip immediately following the recent RAMpocalypse-driven price hikes, which saw Steam Deck prices skyrocket by $240-300 overnight, sales have plummeted since the increases. A report by Boiling Steam, which extrapolates Valve's Top Sellers chart, shows a massive decline since early June. The deck slid from fifth to 14th, an 82% drop in weekly figures.

This translates to a fall from roughly 11,000‑18,000 units a week in 2025 to విశ్వసనీయ 1,400‑3,000 units in July 2026. Revenue losses could reach a 72% drop, even with higher prices. Competitors like the $899.99 ASUS ROG Ally X may also see price hikes, but unless Steam Deck prices fall, demand likely stays flat.

The device is deep into its launch cycle, and fans already demand a Steam Deck 2, though Valve will only release it with significant hardware improvements. This points to a natural decline in the deck’s lifecycle.
