Sales of Valve's Steam Deck have significantly declined following a price increase implemented in May. Previously a consistent top seller, the handheld gaming PC saw its ranking on Steam's best-selling charts drop from fifth place shortly after its relaunch to 14th place in early July.

This marks a stark contrast to 2025, when the Steam Deck rarely fell below seventh place. Valve had previously warned of shortages, leading to unavailability before the May relaunch at a higher price.

Based on revenue charts and estimated sale prices, one analysis suggests Steam Deck unit sales may have fallen by approximately 80 percent. This would mean a drop from an estimated 11,000 to 18,000 units per week to a current estimate of only 1,400 to 3,000 units per week, a substantial slowdown for a device that had already sold an estimated 4 million units.
