Steam Deck Sales Crash 82% After Price Hike

Despite a brief sales spike after $240-300 price hikes driven by RAM shortages, Steam Deck sales have plummeted since June. According to Boiling Steam, which tracks hardware sales via Valve's Top Sellers chart, the device fell from 5th to 14th place, suggesting an 82% weekly sales decline.

Estimates indicate units dropped from 11,000-18,000 per week in early 2025 to just 1,400-3,000 by July 2026, a 72% revenue decline despite higher prices. Analysts warn demand will stay flat unless competitors like the $899.99 ASUS ROG Ally X face similar hikes or Valve lowers prices.

The decline may also reflect the Steam Deck's maturing lifecycle, with fans awaiting a Steam Deck 2—though Valve insists it won't release a successor without major hardware gains.
