Running With Scissors, the studio behind the controversial POSTAL series, has announced its first spinoff game, Flesh & Wire, set for release in 2027. The dark, violent title will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and GOG, marking a return to the franchise's original themes. The announcement came during the IGN Fan Fest showcase.

Players will control Angel, a college student thrust into a conspiracy involving blood, vengeance, and an ominous cult. Accompanied by her sphinx cat Solomon, Angel becomes entangled with law enforcement, military forces, and the mysterious events from the first POSTAL game. The narrative promises connections to the series' infamous protagonist, known as the Postal Dude.

The game represents a significant departure for Running With Scissors, which has built its reputation on the POSTAL franchise over nearly three decades. With millions of fans worldwide, the studio's decision to create a spinoff rather than a direct sequel suggests an evolution in their storytelling approach. Flesh & Wire appears to blend the series' signature dark humor with a more focused narrative structure, potentially expanding the franchise's appeal while maintaining its controversial edge.
