Nvidia has released a native GeForce NOW app for Linux PCs, now in beta. This allows Linux users to stream games directly from the cloud using GeForce RTX power. The app supports resolutions up to 5K at 120 FPS, or 1080p at 360 FPS. Alongside the app, ten new games are available, expanding the cloud gaming library for Linux gamers.

This move marks a significant expansion of GeForce NOW's reach, catering to the growing Linux gaming community. Previously, Linux support was primarily focused on the Steam Deck. Now, PC and notebook users can enjoy a similar experience to the existing Windows and macOS apps. This could drive adoption of cloud gaming on the open-source platform.

The new games include titles like "The Bard's Tale IV: Director's Cut" and "Delta Force." Cloud gaming is gaining traction as an alternative to expensive hardware. Nvidia's expansion to Linux is a strategic move to capture a larger segment of the gaming market. Users can download the app to start gaming.

What's next? Expect to see further refinement of the Linux app based on beta feedback. As cloud gaming evolves, Nvidia's focus on expanding platform support will be key. Competition with services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and PlayStation Plus is heating up, making this a competitive area of tech.
