MediaTek announced its new Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500 chipsets, targeting the flagship and premium smartphone markets. The company aims to deliver strong performance, efficiency, and advanced AI and imaging capabilities. Executive JC Hsu stated the goal is to make bleeding-edge technology more accessible, pushing momentum in the high-end mobile segment.

The flagship Dimensity 9500s uses a 3nm process and an All Big Core architecture, featuring a Cortex-X925 core and Immortalis-G925 GPU for gaming with ray tracing. It includes a powerful NPU for generative AI and advanced imaging, supporting 8K Dolby Vision recording. Connectivity upgrades include a 5G Release-17 modem and improved Wi-Fi range.

Meanwhile, the Dimensity 8500 is built on a 4nm process with eight Cortex-A725 cores. Its Mali-G720 GPU promises a 25% performance boost and 20% lower power consumption versus the previous generation. It also supports ray tracing for mainstream games and features an 8th-gen NPU for large language models and AI-enhanced photography.
