Lofree is launching its Hyzen keyboard on Kickstarter, featuring a groundbreaking hybrid mechanical-magnetic switch called the Nexus, developed with Kailh. This 65% CNC-aluminium keyboard promises 80 hours of battery life from its 10,000 mAh pack and launches April 23rd. Early bird pricing starts at $189 for the tri-mode wireless version, rising to $299 later.

The Nexus switch merges tactile mechanical feel with the low-latency, analog features of TMR (TrackPoint Magnetic Resonance) switches, Lofree claims as the first of its kind. Users can toggle between mechanical and TMR modes via a physical switch, while a dedicated knob adjusts volume. A unique physical toggle swaps the number row to a function row, illuminated by LEDs.

Beyond the switch innovation, the Hyzen offers multi-mode wireless (2.4GHz, Bluetooth, wired) and uses a Nordic nRF54L MCU with 8 kHz polling. Early reservations are available now at the Lofree site, ahead of the official April 23rd Kickstarter launch.
