Horizon Hunters Gathering Beta Limits and Rules Explained

Sony is launching a closed beta for its new three-player co-op game, Horizon Hunters Gathering, from February 27 to March 1. The test will run simultaneously on PS5 and PC via Steam, but access is heavily restricted to players in the USA, Canada, and most of Europe, with specific daily play windows for each region.

Participants will only experience three hunts—Axle, Rem, and Sun—within the Colorado Springs environment. The beta offers two modes, Machine Incursion and Cauldron Descent. Selection is not guaranteed even if you apply through the PlayStation Beta Program, and PC players cannot invite friends; each must apply separately. PlayStation users may bring two friends for a full party.

The test operates under a strict non-disclosure agreement. Beta testers cannot share screenshots, streams, or opinions publicly, confining all discussion to Sony's private Discord server. This tightly controlled rollout suggests Sony is methodically stress-testing core co-op mechanics and server stability ahead of the game's full launch, prioritizing controlled feedback over broad exposure.
