GALAX shuts down as Palit absorbs GPU brand

After three decades of crafting overclock‑focused GeForce cards, GALAX is shuttering its Hong Kong operations. The company’s KFA2 label for Europe folds alongside it, and Palit—one of the world’s largest GPU add‑in card makers—will inherit all warranty, RMA and launch responsibilities. Fans of the HOF series question the brand’s fate, which began with the 1995 GeForce 256 launch and earned multiple world‑record overclock scores.

Palit cites strained supply chains as the immediate trigger, noting that AI‑driven data‑center demand has squeezed raw‑material availability for smaller manufacturers. Leveraging its greater volume, Palit expects to secure components at lower cost, a move that could stabilize production for former GALAX models and better stock levels.

Employees received termination notices on April 23, and long‑time Brazilian partner TecLab confirmed the rollout to customers. Enthusiasts may see existing warranty support shift to Palit’s service network, but the disappearance of GALAX’s specialized engineering could narrow options for extreme overclockers. Support will be routed through Palit’s portal soon.
