PC enthusiast WXNOD discovered Corsair's Vengeance DDR5-6000 module packed with CXMT DRAM chips instead of the brand's typical Micron-sourced components. The CMK5X16G3E60C36A2 runs at 6000 MHz with 36-44-44-96 timings at 1.35V, supporting both EXPO and XMP profiles. This marks a notable shift in Corsair's supply chain strategy.

CXMT (Chang Xin Memory Technologies) represents China's push into the DRAM market, mass-producing DDR5 chips with growing traction among retail brands. While Corsair traditionally relies on Micron Technology for memory ICs, this module suggests the company is testing alternative suppliers to manage costs and supply constraints.

The entry of Chinese memory manufacturers into the market has rattled financial advisors tracking memory stocks buoyed by AI demand. Analysts warn that CXMT's volume production could drive memory prices lower, potentially derailing the pricing stability that industry observers expect to persist through 2026.

Unlike NAND flash producer YMTC, which faced trade restrictions, CXMT maintains broad global market access. This positions the company to capture significant share in the Chinese domestic market, where price sensitivity remains high and the memory market continues expanding rapidly.
