Tesla reported a robust second quarter for 2026, with total EV sales climbing 25 percent year-over-year to 480,126 units. The popular Model 3 and Y continued to dominate, accounting for 467,762 deliveries, a 25.2 percent increase. This strong performance suggests the automaker has moved past earlier public hesitations.

Encouragingly for the company, Tesla appears to be managing its production levels more effectively. Total production in Q2 stood at 451,758 vehicles, a 10 percent increase from the previous year but significantly less than sales. This marks a considerable improvement over Q1, where inventory had been a growing concern, with production exceeding sales.

The remaining sales of 12,364 vehicles included the now-discontinued Models S and X, alongside the Cybertruck, which saw a 19 percent increase. Tesla’s energy storage division also performed well, deploying 13.5 GWh, a 40 percent jump year-over-year, with registration data pointing to Europe as a major driver of the automotive sales growth. Tesla delivered 480,126 vehicles in Q2 2026.
