The developer claims the game is optimized for Valve's handheld, despite its hardware limitations.

Developers state Black Flag Resynced will “look and run great” on the Steam Deck, featuring ray tracing and dynamic weather. The game utilizes the modern Ubisoft Anvil engine, similar to Assassin's Creed Shadows. Given Shadows' performance on the Deck often requires upscaling to maintain around 30 FPS, similar optimization efforts may be necessary for Black Flag.

More powerful handhelds like the Intel Arc G3-powered devices and the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X should offer a smoother experience. This verification ensures compatibility with the growing number of PC handheld gaming devices, expanding the reach for the updated classic.
