The original Assassin's Creed Black Flag remains a visual standout 12 years later, but Ubisoft has released Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced with updated visuals, gameplay improvements, and removed modern-day sections. The remake runs on the latest Anvil engine, also powering Assassin's Creed Shadows, supporting ray-traced global illumination and reflections, plus DLSS, XeSS, FSR upscaling and frame generation—though it lacks low-latency support and HDR.

Our handheld performance review evaluates the game across five major PC handhelds, including the new MSI Claw 8 EX with Intel G3 Extreme graphics. Due to time constraints, we dropped the original ASUS ROG Ally Z1 Extreme on Steam OS, but now cover every major handheld chip: AMD Van Gogh (Steam Deck), AMD Z1 Extreme, AMD Z2 Extreme, Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, and Intel G3 Extreme.

We provide optimized settings for each device, ensuring players can achieve the best balance of visual fidelity and performance on their chosen handheld platform.
