Subaru's latest EV, the $39,995 Trailseeker, brings a unique blend of station wagon practicality and off-road capability to the electric crossover market. Built on Toyota's e-TNGA platform alongside the Solterra and Uncharted, the Trailseeker distinguishes itself with a stretched roofline designed to accommodate full-size dog crates and camping gear.

Unlike its siblings, the Trailseeker will be manufactured in the United States at Subaru's Lafayette, Indiana plant alongside the Forester. The design leans heavily into Subaru's traditional styling cues with extensive plastic cladding and an optional two-tone paint scheme that emphasizes its wagon-like profile. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivers 375 horsepower and 281 miles of range from a 74.7 kWh battery, with class-leading 8.5 inches of ground clearance.

On the road, the Trailseeker proves surprisingly nimble despite its size, with responsive steering and minimal body roll. The 4.4-second 0-60 mph time makes it the quickest Subaru ever, though the electric platform's Toyota influence is evident in the minimalist interior design. While the 150 kW charging capability lags behind some competitors, Subaru claims superior battery preconditioning extends high-speed charging windows. The Trailseeker's true strength lies in serving as a basecamp vehicle for outdoor adventures, offering 1,500W of vehicle-to-load power and a "My Room" mode for extended stays.
