Sky Sports has locked in exclusive UK and Ireland broadcast rights for Formula 1 until 2034, adding a five‑year extension to its existing deal. All races, qualifying and practice will remain live on the dedicated Sky Sports F1 channel and stream via NOW, while home‑nation races and highlights will be shown free‑to‑air. The package also covers Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 Academy and Porsche Supercup.

Last season saw British driver Lando Norris capture the 2025 Drivers’ Championship for McLaren, propelling the most‑watched F1 year on Sky Sports. Viewing surged 90 % overall, with under‑35 audiences up 120 % and female viewership more than doubled, culminating in a record 162m viewer‑hours in 2025. Sky also secured a parallel extension in Italy through 2032 as teenage Kimi Antonelli leads the 2026 championship.

F1 president Stefano Domenicali praised Sky’s “world‑leading” production, citing its on‑screen talent and innovations such as the Ghost Car and SkyPad analysis. The broadcaster will continue to share coverage with partners in over 100 markets, keeping its award‑winning commentary team—including Martin Brundle’s Grid Walk—at the forefront. This deal cements Sky as the definitive home for Formula 1 in the UK for the next decade.
