Desire Doue scored the winner as Paris Saint-Germain beat Aston Villa 2-1 to win the UEFA Super Cup at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg. The 21-year-old restored PSG's lead after Brian Madjo had equalised for Villa on his professional debut.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had given PSG the lead (20) but Madjo, aged 17-year-old, became the youngest player to score in the Super Cup with a volleyed equaliser (45). Villa were without key players Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa and Emiliano Martinez, but teenagers Madjo and George Hemmings shone.

Doue struck again (62) and PSG held on to start the 2026/27 campaign with silverware. Villa boss Unai Emery said: "With a loss, you can never feel happy but how we compete... we must feel really very proud."
