Arsenal targets Jarell Quansah and Ezri Konsa

Arsenal have identified Bayer Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah as a potential defensive target for the summer transfer window, according to sources.

While no direct talks have occurred, Arsenal has explored a deal for Quansah through intermediaries. However, Leverkusen is reportedly hesitant to sell, having acquired the England international from Liverpool for £30 million last summer. A significant valuation difference could hinder negotiations.

This pursuit comes as Arsenal continues to be interested in Aston Villa's Ezri Konsa. Villa values Konsa at approximately £60m, a figure Arsenal has reportedly been unwilling to match, previously indicating a willingness to offer only half that amount. Arsenal is expected to increase their efforts for Konsa, but a compromise remains uncertain, prompting the club to consider Quansah as an alternative.

Both Quansah and Konsa, who were part of Thomas Tuchel's England squad, offer versatility, capable of playing at right-back or centre-back. Quansah notably made 44 appearances for Leverkusen in his first season.
