The Anaheim Ducks locked up forward AJ Greer on a four-year contract worth $4.25 million annually, acquiring a player fresh off Stanley Cup championship experience. The deal includes a 10-team no-trade clause and prevents Greer from hitting unrestricted free agency. Anaheim sent defenseman Radko Gudas to Florida in exchange for exclusive negotiation rights earlier this week.

Greer, 29, joins the Ducks after spending the past two seasons with the Florida Panthers, where he captured the 2025 championship. The veteran forward has played for five organizations including Colorado, New Jersey, Boston and Calgary during his nine NHL seasons. His versatility and championship pedigree address immediate needs for Anaheim's rebuilding roster.

The physical winger posted career-best numbers in 2025-26, tallying 17 goals and 15 assists in 78 games while averaging 12:26 of ice time. Greer led all Anaheim players with 113 penalty minutes last season and accumulated 243 PIMs over his two years in Florida. His gritty style brings much-needed toughness to the Ducks' forward group.

This signing represents Anaheim's continued push to add experienced, playoff-tested players while Florida's bottom six continues to disband. The Panthers previously traded Evan Rodrigues and Jesper Boqvist to New Jersey in the Jacob Markstrom deal, making Greer the third depth forward to depart this offseason.
