Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Poehling has agreed to a four-year, $15 million contract extension with the team, announced Thursday. The 27-year-old has contributed seven goals and 17 assists in 54 games this season while excelling as a top penalty killer and defensive forward for the second-place Ducks.

The Ducks acquired Poehling from Philadelphia last June in exchange for fan favorite Trevor Zegras, a move that remains unpopular with many supporters. Despite the backlash, Poehling has proven valuable in a key depth role, helping Anaheim position themselves firmly in the race for their first playoff appearance since 2018.

Poehling, selected 25th overall by Montreal in 2017, is now signed through the 2029-30 season. The extension represents a substantial raise from his current two-year, $3.8 million deal and provides the Ducks with cost certainty for a player who has already made significant contributions to their playoff push.
