Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca insists Gianluigi Donnarumma has his full backing despite errors in the Champions League win at RB Leipzig. Donnarumma was at fault for one goal, allowing a shot to beat him at the near post, though Maresca highlighted a fine save made minutes prior. The manager emphasized the goalkeeper knows the mistake and will improve, rejecting suggestions to review the position during the international break.
City led twice through an own goal and a header but were pegged back before Erling Haaland settled the contest with his 14th goal of the season. Maresca accepted his side needs to stop conceding "silly goals," noting the team is still building chemistry after four months together. Haaland, now within one goal of equaling Eric Brook as City's second-highest scorer, was once again in the right place at the right time.
