MTN Earnings Triple on Nigerian Ghana Gains

MTN Group expects full-year earnings per share to range between 10.62 rand and 11.68 rand, a significant turnaround from the prior year's loss, driven by strong performances in its Nigeria and Ghana operations. The company highlighted improved profitability and revenue growth in these key markets, which together contribute over 40% of group revenue. Nigeria swung to a 1.1 trillion naira ($809 million) profit in 2025 from a loss, while Ghana saw net income rise over 50%.

The naira's recent stability, following previous depreciation pressures, is credited with boosting Nigeria's contribution to group profits. MTN shares have surged nearly 80% over the past year, valuing the company at $23.7 billion.
