The Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers will each play two regular-season games in Germany during the 2027-28 NHL season as part of the league's Global Series initiative. The Bruins are scheduled to play in Munich, while the Oilers will compete in Cologne, the hometown of star player Leon Draisaitl. Opponents for these games have not yet been announced.

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly emphasized the league's commitment to growing hockey in Germany, calling the events an important step toward deepening fan engagement and expanding the sport nationwide. The league and NHLPA have committed to hosting regular-season games in Germany for at least the next three seasons.

These upcoming matchups build on previous Global Series games, including the Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators, who are set to play in Düsseldorf in December. The Buffalo Sabres and Los Angeles Kings previously played in Berlin in 2011, marking the NHL's initial foray into the German market.
