The Dallas Cowboys have placed a second-round tender worth $5.7 million on Pro Bowl kicker Brandon Aubrey, according to sources. The restricted free agent tender means any team signing Aubrey to an offer sheet would cost the signing team a second-round draft pick if Dallas chooses not to match. The Cowboys currently lack a second-round pick due to the Quinnen Williams trade.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones revealed the team has offered Aubrey a contract that would make him the NFL's highest-paid kicker, though negotiations have stalled. Kansas City's Harrison Butker currently tops the position at $6.4 million annually. Sources indicate the Cowboys' offer is close to $7 million on average, while Aubrey's agent Todd France is seeking around $10 million per year.

The 30-year-old Aubrey has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three NFL seasons and holds the record for most field goals from 60 yards or more with six. Last season he connected on 11-of-17 attempts from 50 yards or more, though he missed six kicks from 51 yards or longer. His career accuracy stands at 112-of-127 attempts.
