The Dallas Cowboys have secured running back Javonte Williams with a three-year contract worth $24 million, including $16 million guaranteed, according to sources. The deal features a $6 million signing bonus and keeps Williams in Dallas after his breakout 2024 season. Williams, who turned 26 in April, was coming off a career year with the Cowboys.

Williams set career highs in rushing yards (1,201), carries (252), and touchdowns (11) after signing a one-year deal worth $3 million with Dallas following four seasons with the Denver Broncos. His 1,201 rushing yards were the most by a Cowboys running back since Ezekiel Elliott's 1,357 in 2019. The former second-round pick missed most of the 2022 season after tearing his ACL and LCL in his right knee with Denver.

Williams' production came despite playing through a stinger issue that bothered him during the season's final month, causing him to miss the last game. His 1,201 yards ranked ninth in the NFL despite the late-season absence. The Cowboys now shift focus to Pro Bowl wide receiver George Pickens, whom they're expected to franchise tag at roughly $28 million before the March 3 deadline while working toward a multiyear extension.
