The Seattle Seahawks have signed former Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson to a one-year contract worth up to $2.1 million, a source confirmed to ESPN. The 26-year-old undrafted free agent from Fort Valley State will help replace Kenneth Walker III, who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on a three-year, $43.05 million deal.

Wilson spent three seasons with the Packers, rushing for 998 yards and seven touchdowns on 228 carries. His best professional performance came in Week 11 last season when he totaled 125 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns while filling in for injured Josh Jacobs. The Seahawks are also without Zach Charbonnet for much of next season as he recovers from February knee surgery.

Wilson becomes only the second external free agent Seattle has signed since the negotiating window opened Monday. The Super Bowl champions have focused on retaining their championship roster, though Walker was one of four players who left in free agency. The Seahawks may still draft another running back to complement Wilson and George Holani, who finished the playoffs as Seattle's No. 2 back.
