Kenneth Walker III Chiefs Move: Fantasy RB1 Potential?

Kenneth Walker III's free-agent signing with the Kansas City Chiefs could transform his fantasy football outlook after years of shared carries in Seattle. The Super Bowl LX MVP, who rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his last two seasons with the Seahawks, averaged 4.4 yards per carry and scored 31 touchdowns during his tenure in Seattle.

Walker, who finished 22nd among running backs in PPR scoring this past season, never exceeded 250 rushing attempts in any campaign with Seattle due to a committee approach that included Zach Charbonnet. The Chiefs haven't had a 1,000-yard rusher since Kareem Hunt in 2017, and their most recent leading rusher managed just 611 yards. Walker's arrival comes as Kansas City looks to rebound from a disappointing 6-11 season and rebuild an offensive line that once featured standout performers.

The move significantly boosts Walker's fantasy value, with projections showing 264 carries for 1,180 yards and nine touchdowns rushing, plus 48 catches for 367 yards and two receiving touchdowns. While questions remain about his durability after missing games in each of his first three seasons, the increased volume in Kansas City's offense could elevate Walker to top-10 fantasy status at the position.
