Alabama guard Aden Holloway has been removed from campus following his arrest on drug charges, the university announced. The 6-foot-1 junior, Alabama's No. 2 scorer, was taken into custody Monday morning after authorities found over a pound of marijuana and cash during a search near campus. Holloway faces felony charges including first-degree possession of marijuana-not for personal use.

Holloway, who averaged 18 points per game and shot 44% from three-point range, will be off the team while the university conducts its investigation through the UA Office of Student Conduct. The arrest comes at a critical time for Alabama, which enters the NCAA tournament as a 4-seed in the Midwest Region. The Crimson Tide face Hofstra in Friday's first round in Tampa.

Without Holloway, coach Nate Oats must adjust his rotation for the tournament. Leading scorer Labaron Philon Jr. will likely see increased responsibility, while reserves Houston Mallette and Taylor Bol Bowen need to provide more production. The situation could also create an opportunity for former five-star recruit Jalil Bethea to re-enter the rotation. Holloway's absence represents a significant blow to Alabama's high-powered offense, which ranks No. 3 nationally.
