Jacob Misiorowski etched his name in the Milwaukee Brewers' record books on Sunday, striking out the first seven Colorado Rockies batters he faced to set a new franchise record.

He continued his dominant performance, striking out 12 of the first 13 Rockies batters and retiring the first 14 before Cole Carrigg broke up the perfect game with a two-out homer in the fifth inning. Misiorowski finished his outing with 12 strikeouts in five innings, allowing just one run on one hit in an 83-pitch effort. The Brewers' previous record for consecutive strikeouts to start a game was held by Quinn Priester with six in 2023.

The major league record for consecutive strikeouts to begin a game belongs to Pablo Lopez, who recorded nine in 2021. Misiorowski's streak also fell short of the MLB record for consecutive strikeouts at any point in a game, which stands at 10, achieved by pitchers like Corbin Burnes, Tom Seaver, and Aaron Nola.
