The Milwaukee Brewers tied an MLB record with 20 strikeouts in a 14-2 Opening Day victory over the Chicago White Sox. Starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski struck out 11 batters in five innings, becoming the first Brewers pitcher to record that many strikeouts on Opening Day. The feat matched the major league record for most strikeouts in a nine-inning game.

Misiorowski allowed just one hit - a leadoff home run to Chase Meidroth - and retired the next 14 batters he faced. Four Brewers relievers combined for nine more strikeouts, with DL Hall and Jake Woodford each striking out the side in their respective innings. The performance showcased Milwaukee's dominant pitching staff and set a new franchise record.

Manager Pat Murphy praised Misiorowski's maturity and command, noting the young pitcher's ability to move past the early home run. The Brewers' 20-strikeout game marked the first time a team has accomplished this feat on Opening Day. Ten teams have previously recorded 20 strikeouts in a nine-inning game, with the New York Mets last achieving it against Pittsburgh in 2022.
