Cincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene will undergo season-ending elbow surgery for a partially torn UCL and is expected to be sidelined until at least 2026. Tampa Bay Rays placed reliever Griffin Jax on the 15-day injured list with right elbow discomfort. Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Cooper Pratt was placed on the IL with a strained right hamstring, testing infield depth for the NL Central leaders. Miami Marlins first baseman Kyle Stowers exited early after tweaking his left hamstring during Sunday's 12-3 win over the Angels.

Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson set an MLB record for the position Sunday, playing his 111th consecutive errorless game, surpassing Mike Bordick. Two-time All-Star Tim Anderson announced his retirement from MLB after 10 seasons. Braves ace Chris Sale was ejected before throwing a pitch in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Yankees, still fuming over a previous balk call. San Diego Padres signed veteran outfielder Austin Hays, who homered in his first at-bat with the club.
